Aaron is co-founder of Madison recruitment agency and has seven years experience in the UK technology recruitment market. He has built a strong reputation as being a specialist in technology and has led large recruitment companies for major blue chip firms and teach start-ups in the early stages of growth.
Apart from work, Aaron’s real passion is sport and when not on the pitch himself he can be found in Manchester watching the United.
Andrew is a Lieutenant Colonel with 18 years experience in the British Army. He has served around the world, living in Germany for five years and also serving with the United States Army for two years as Director of Operations for Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Other appointments have included running the Army’s business program and completing an organisational review of Army initial training. He is currently a student of Operational Strategy at the Defence Joint Command and Staff College. He has three children with his wife Victoria, enjoys road cycling, and is an alpine ski instructor.
Charlotte has worked with books, newspapers and magazines throughout her career to date, both in retail as well as publishing and distribution. It is an industry she is passionate about and she is keen to share her experience with the Arkbound team wherever it may be appropriate, enabling them to become even more successful in making a difference to others.
Charlotte is also a mentor and coach for The Aspire Foundation, the not-for-profit and social responsibility organisation with the goal of inspiring and empowering women working in charities and social enterprises across the world.
Charlotte enjoys travelling, reading, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
George is a successful entrepreneur who has run a variety of companies in Greece and Turkey. He maintains an active interest in journalism and media, working alongside Athens Live and other media enterprises that have a social impact.
George became involved with Arkbound following its acceptance on a Council of Europe project in 2016 (‘Accelerating Media Diversity’) and he focuses on author liaisons and general business operations.
Editing and Digital Media Executive
With a life-long passion for books, Joanne provides crucial editorial support to Arkbound – evaluating new submissions, liaising with prospective new authors, and doing core editorial work. Alongside all this Joanne manages the Arkbound digital media presence, working with volunteers and interns.
Joanne has been working for Arkbound since early 2017, in-between her other work as a freelance website designer and dog walker!
Proud mum of two children, Kate helped setup Arkbound with Steve in 2015 after a period of unemployment. She is an experienced writer and artist, but professionally has worked within Human Recruitment departments for large London companies – a role she continues to this date.
Kate took a leading role in getting Arkbound setup, building a strong online presence and links to other organisations. She volunteers with Crisis and other charities.
Lucy studied Graphic Communications at Bath Spa university and has previous experience of working with authors and publishers designing book covers and interiors. In addition to this work, she is a designer and coordinator for Vocalise magazine and has assisted the Bristol Cable, amongst other projects.
Polly is the Publishing Executive for Arkbound, a Freelance Writer, Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of online culture magazine On the Beat and the Art Director for international zine The Rational Online. You can find her writing on The Culture Trip and Gender and the City. She has an MA in English Literature from the University of Bristol, where she focused on feminism and early twentieth-century women’s writing in the work of Djuna Barnes (her favourite author).
In her free time, she enjoys going to see gigs, plays and reading as much as possible.
Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief
Steve completed a Princes’ Trust Enterprise programme and went on to help found Arkbound with additional support from Crisis in London following a period of 7 years within the custody of American and British establishments. Since that time Steve’s work with Arkbound and other organisations received commendation from HRH Prince Charles in early 2016, and the work he did with ‘Boundless’ magazine (Arkbound’s flagship magazine publication) enabled the company to win a ‘Go Green’ award.
Steve is no longer a director of Arkbound but remains involved as an editor and to assist with overall operations. He is passionate about creative writing, editing, journalism, strategic planning, and social inclusion.
